After a temporary lull in sales, Maruti Suzuki has brought the Grand Vitara CNG back to India. Significant improvements are included in this revised CNG version, including as improved safety measures and high-end equipment. It comes after the regular Grand Vitara recently received a makeover, demonstrating Maruti’s emphasis on offering more alternatives in its SUV lineup.
What’s new
The Delta and Zeta models of the CNG series now come equipped with six airbags as standard. A Clarion premium sound system, wireless charging station, rear door sunshades, heated front seats, tire pressure monitoring (TPMS), and an air purifier with a PM2.5 display are among the extra features that come with the Zeta.
ESP, hill hold aid, ABS with EBD, front and rear disc brakes, ISOFIX child seat restraint, and a rearview camera are all new features added to the safety tech. These improvements are comparable to those found in the gasoline and hybrid models.
A 9-inch SmartPlay Pro touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, Suzuki Connect, keyless entry with a push-start button, auto climate control, and rear air conditioning vents make up the infotainment system.
Powertrain & Mileage
With a 1.5-liter K-series Dual Jet Dual VVT engine that runs on compressed natural gas (CNG) and generates 87.8 horsepower and 121.5 Nm of torque, it is mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.
It is one of the most fuel-efficient midsize SUVs in its class, with a claimed fuel economy of 26.6 km per kg of CNG.

- Grand Vitara CNG Delta: ₹13.48 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Grand Vitara CNG Zeta: ₹15.62 lakh (ex-showroom)
The Zeta variant’s price is up by ₹41,000, primarily because of additional safety and comfort features, while the Delta variant’s price has risen by ₹23,000.
In the mid-size SUV market, Maruti Suzuki has positioned the Grand Vitara CNG as a feature-rich, secure, and incredibly efficient choice. It’s more appealing than ever thanks to its six airbags, cutting-edge technology, and great mileage, even though it costs a little more than the gasoline-powered model.
