India The much anticipated 2026 KLX230R S has been introduced by Kawasaki Motors to the Indian market at an initial price of ₹1.94 lakh (ex-showroom). Approximately 95% of the off-road motorcycle is now produced locally, which has led to a significant decrease in price as compared to the prior imported model. Off-road aficionados seeking a high-performance yet reasonably priced dirt bike are the target market for the KLX230R S, which is designed for pure trail riding.
A 233cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder, SOHC engine that produces about 19 horsepower at 8,000 rpm and 20 Nm of torque at 6,000 rpm powers the new KLX230R S. Both novice and expert dirt track riders will benefit from this engine’s smooth gear changes and balanced power output when teamed with a 6-speed gearbox.
Built on a high-tensile steel frame and swingarm, the bike features 37mm telescopic front forks with 220mm of travel and a link-type rear monoshock with 223mm of travel, ensuring excellent shock absorption on rough terrains. With a 900mm seat height and 270mm ground clearance, the KLX230R S is well-equipped to tackle challenging trails. The bike rides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wire-spoke wheels wrapped in knobby off-road tyres for maximum grip.
A 290mm front disc and a 230mm rear disc handle the braking tasks, offering dependable stopping power under all circumstances. Because the KLX230R S is a track and trail bike and does not have lights, mirrors, or indicators, it is not road legal. Because of this emphasis on off-road use, Kawasaki is able to maintain a simple yet durable design.
