BYD Launches Atto 3 Evo With 74.8 kWh Battery and 510 Km Range

BYD has officially unveiled the Atto 3 Evo, an updated version of its electric SUV. The new model brings several improvements that enhance speed, range, and the overall driving experience. One of the biggest highlights is the larger 74.8 kWh battery pack. This upgrade significantly increases the SUV’s driving range. The Atto 3 Evo can now deliver up to 510 km of WLTP-certified range on a single charge.

As a result, the new battery setup makes the SUV more practical for long-distance travel. With these upgrades, BYD aims to meet the growing demand for long-range family EVs. The improvements also help the Atto 3 Evo stay competitive in the global electric vehicle market.

New e-Platform 3.0 and More Powerful Performance

The BYD Atto 3 Evo is built on the company’s latest e-Platform 3.0 architecture. This platform features an upgraded electrical system and an optimized powertrain. As a result, the SUV delivers better efficiency and improved performance. Unlike the previous front-wheel-drive setup, the Evo now comes with a rear-wheel-drive configuration as standard. This setup produces around 313 PS of power and 380 Nm of torque. Because of this, the SUV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.5 seconds.

For buyers who want stronger performance, BYD also offers an all-wheel-drive Excellence variant. This version delivers a combined output of over 449 PS. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.9 seconds. However, the higher performance slightly reduces the driving range to around 470 km.

800V Architecture and Faster Charging

The BYD Atto 3 Evo introduces a new 800V electrical architecture, which significantly improves its charging performance. This advanced system supports DC fast charging of up to 220 kW. With this technology, the battery can charge from 10% to 80% in around 25 minutes under ideal conditions. As a result, the charging time is much shorter than before and makes long-distance travel more convenient.

In addition, the Atto 3 Evo features BYD’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability. This system allows the SUV to power external devices with an output of up to around 3 kW. Because of this feature, users can run small appliances, charge gadgets, or power equipment during outdoor trips. This makes the electric SUV more practical for camping, road trips, and outdoor activities.

Beyond the powertrain, there are useful upgrades to the interior and cargo area that are appropriate for daily use. Although the SUV’s external measurements stay the same, its ingenious packaging results in a 490-liter boot that can hold 1,360 liters when the rear seats are folded. Additional storage is provided by a new 101-liter front trunk, or “frunk,” and the inside has been updated with a 15.6-inch touchscreen that integrates Google services, a gear selector that is now located on the steering column, and optional comfort options like heated rear seats.
