With significant improvements that improve speed, range, and the entire driving experience, BYD has formally unveiled the Atto 3 Evo, a redesigned electric SUV. This new model’s standout feature is an expanded 74.8 kWh battery pack, which dramatically increases the WLTP-certified driving range to up to 510 km when compared to the previous model’s lower range. By addressing consumer demand for longer-range family SUVs, these improvements seek to increase the Atto 3 Evo’s competitiveness in the worldwide EV market.

BYD’s most recent e-Platform 3.0 architecture, which includes an upgraded electrical system and an optimized powertrain, underpins the Atto 3 Evo. The Evo’s basic arrangement is rear-wheel drive, which produces about 313 PS and 380 Nm of torque, allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in about 5.5 seconds, in contrast to the previous front-wheel drive setup. An all-wheel-drive Excellence edition with a combined output of over 449 PS is available for customers looking for even more performance. It can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in only 3.9 seconds, but its range is somewhat limited to about 470 km.
A new 800 V electrical architecture of the Atto 3 Evo has significantly improved charging capabilities. This allows for fast DC charging at up to 220 kW, which, in the best circumstances, may take the battery from 10% to 80% in around 25 minutes. This is a significant advance over the previous version. Along with quicker charging, the Evo has BYD’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability, which enables users to power external equipment up to roughly 3 kW. This feature makes it more useful for outdoor or camping applications.

Beyond the powertrain, there are useful upgrades to the interior and cargo area that are appropriate for daily use. Although the SUV’s external measurements stay the same, its ingenious packaging results in a 490-liter boot that can hold 1,360 liters when the rear seats are folded. Additional storage is provided by a new 101-liter front trunk, or “frunk,” and the inside has been updated with a 15.6-inch touchscreen that integrates Google services, a gear selector that is now located on the steering column, and optional comfort options like heated rear seats.
