2025, New Delhi — Pre-orders for the brand-new Basalt X, the first model under Citroën India’s ambitious “Citroën 2.0 – Shift Into the New” plan, are now open. The SUV-coupé is currently available for ₹11,000 at Citroën dealerships and the company’s official website. Positioned as a new top-spec trim, the Basalt X is intended to enhance Citroën’s portfolio with smarter features, bolder style, and superior comfort.
The Basalt X adds sportiness to Citroën’s SUV-coupé with its eye-catching all-black bodywork, dual-tone alloys, and bronze highlights. With its dual-tone cabin in black and brown, bronze accents, ambient lighting, and soft-touch materials, the updated interior is just as luxurious. A 10.25-inch floating touchscreen and a 7-inch digital driver display dominate the dashboard, while a new rear-seat armrest has been incorporated for convenience. In addition to six airbags, TPMS, and ISOFIX mounts for safety, the tech features include wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, keyless entry, push-button start, wireless charging, and a 360° camera system.
Powertrain
Citroën’s 1.2-liter turbo-petrol engine, which produces around 110 horsepower, powers the Basalt X. It comes with both manual and automatic transmission options. The goal is to use design and technology to provide a more luxurious ownership experience, even when the powertrain stays the same. In order to remain competitive in the expanding SUV market, the new model is anticipated to cost between ₹10,000 and ₹25,000 more than the present top trim.
A key component of Citroën’s 2.0 strategy, the Basalt X’s debut aims to increase the company’s visibility in India by introducing feature-rich products, bettering customer experiences, and growing its digital-plus-physical (“phygital”) retail network. The Basalt X, which will have a formal debut and pricing information later this month, demonstrates Citroën’s dedication to providing Indian consumers with cutting-edge, fashionable, and intelligent mobility solutions.
