Kia India has formally opened bookings for its brand-new electric vehicle, the Carens Clavis EV, a feature-rich seven-seater MPV designed for Indian families with an eye toward the future. The Clavis EV, which combines the eco-friendly advantages of electric mobility with the utility of a multipurpose vehicle, is a daring move in Kia’s electrification strategy. It arrives on July 22, 2025. Battery & Performance
There are two different engine options for the Carens Clavis EV. The Extended Range (ER) model has a larger 51.4 kWh battery pack and offers an impressive 490 km range on a single charge, making it one of the longest-range electric MPVs currently available in India. The Standard Range variant has a 42 kWh battery and a certified range of up to 404 km (ARAI). Smooth acceleration and secure highway driving are made possible through the electric motor’s peak output of 133 PS in the standard variant and 171 PS in the ER variant, both of which have a torque of 255 Nm. Additionally, the Clavis EV supports 100 kW DC fast charging, allowing the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in just 39 minutes.
The Clavis EV, which Kia is offering in three well-equipped models (HTX, HTX+, and HTK+), ranges in price from ₹17.99 lakh to ₹24.49 lakh (ex-showroom). A BOSE 8-speaker premium sound system, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof that adds to the cabin’s premium appearance, and two 12.3-inch digital displays are just a few of the segment-leading features that the MPV boasts. To further solidify its standing as one of the safest electric MPVs available, it also comes equipped with an advanced ADAS Level 2 safety suite that includes more than 20 driver assistance features, such as adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning.
The Clavis EV’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability adds even more usefulness through allowing users to use the vehicle’s battery to power other electronics. This makes it perfect for remote work, emergencies, and camping. Paddle shifters combined with regenerative braking enable more energy economy and adaptable driving dynamics.
