MG Majestor Goes Through Last Test Runs Ahead of Official Launch

The MG Majestor, the highly anticipated flagship SUV from JSW MG Motor India, is now undergoing its final rounds of testing on Indian roads as the company prepares for an official rollout in February 2026. Recent sightings and spy images confirm that the Majestor—a large, rugged three-row SUV—is very close to production readiness, signaling that its launch is imminent.

Final Testing on Indian Terrain

Over the past few weeks, multiple test mules of the MG Majestor have been spotted on highways and even off-road trails, suggesting that MG is fine-tuning the SUV’s dynamics and durability for Indian conditions. These trials appear to be part of the last phase of development before the car goes on sale.

The ongoing tests have included off-road trials, where the Majestor was seen navigating challenging terrain, underlining MG’s effort to ensure strong performance and reliability even in rugged conditions.

The latest test vehicles reveal a near-production design with a bold, upright front fascia, a large grille, split LED headlamp setup, and a muscular stance that gives it a commanding road presence. Exterior elements like chunky alloy wheels, roof rails, and protective body cladding enhance its rugged SUV appeal.

Although much of the final styling remains partially camouflaged, details such as connected LED tail-lamps and a wide tailgate design emphasize the Majestor’s premium positioning above MG’s current Gloster SUV.

Spacious and Feature-Rich Interior (Expected)

While official interior photos haven’t been fully released yet, industry insiders expect the Majestor to feature a modern and premium cabin with a large touchscreen infotainment system, a digital instrument cluster, and comfort features such as panoramic sunroof, 360-degree cameras, and possibly Level 2+ advanced driver assistance systems.

Powertrain and Performance

Under the hood, the Majestor is expected to use proven diesel engines from MG’s lineup. It will likely feature a 2.0-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. This engine is known for its strong torque output. MG will pair this engine with an 8-speed automatic transmission. The SUV may also offer a four-wheel-drive system. As a result, it will handle both highway cruising and off-road driving with ease.

Launch Timeline and Positioning

MG will officially unveil the Majestor in India in February 2026. Reports suggest a possible debut around February 12, 2026. Once launched, it will sit as one of the brand’s flagship SUVs. It will compete with rivals like the Toyota Fortuner Legender, Skoda Kodiaq, and other premium full-size SUVs.

In terms of pricing, MG may position the Majestor in the ₹40–45 lakh (ex-showroom) range. However, the brand will reveal the exact pricing closer to launch.

Meanwhile, the MG Majestor is in its final testing phase. Recent spy shots and road tests confirm that the SUV is almost production-ready. Moreover, it features a bold design and a spacious cabin. It is also expected to offer capable powertrain options and modern technology. Overall, MG aims to position the Majestor as a strong contender in India’s full-size SUV segment.
