Suzuki has revealed the GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, two much awaited touring motorcycles that will add to its already extensive lineup of GSX-8 platforms. These brand-new motorcycles have many features designed for long-distance touring and adventure riding, yet they share their foundation with the well-liked GSX-8R.
A Platform That Works
The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT are powered by Suzuki’s well-proven 776cc parallel-twin engine, which also powers the GSX-8R. The engine, which is tuned for efficiency and performance balance, delivers power smoothly and responsively, making it perfect for both navigating winding backroads and cruising highways.
With improvements to improve comfort and stability over long distances, the bikes are built on the same steel frame architecture as the GSX-8R.
Meet the GSX-8T: The Sport-Tourer
Suzuki’s version of a middleweight sport-tourer is the GSX-8T. It is made for riders who desire both comfort and speed in equal measure. It has the following features:
- Upright and relaxed ergonomics
- A tall windscreen for better wind protection
- Pannier mounts (optional luggage accessories available)
- 17-inch cast wheels
- Long travel suspension to absorb rough patches on the road
The GSX-8T is a tech-savvy partner for the contemporary rider with to its electronic features, which include traction control, a bi-directional quickshifter, ride-by-wire throttle, and several riding modes.
Availability and Expected Pricing
Suzuki plans to start deliveries later this year, however official pricing and launch dates differ by market. The GSX-8T and GSX-8TT, which are more versatile than the GSX-8R, will go up against other mid-weight tourers like the Yamaha Tracer 7 and Honda NC750X.
