Mercedes-Benz has officially confirmed the India launch of the new V-Class luxury MPV on 3 March, marking the return of the premium people-mover to the Indian market after it was discontinued in 2022. The launch highlights the brand’s renewed focus on the luxury MPV space, which is witnessing rising demand from buyers seeking spacious, chauffeur-driven vehicles with a strong emphasis on comfort and prestige.

The upcoming V-Class is expected to be offered in the Extra Long Wheelbase version, ensuring ample cabin space for passengers. It will compete directly with models such as the Toyota Vellfire and Lexus LM, both of which have seen strong interest in India. Mercedes-Benz aims to position the V-Class as a blend of luxury, practicality and brand appeal in this niche but growing segment.

Inside, the new V-Class is likely to feature a significantly upgraded cabin with a modern dashboard layout, dual digital screens and premium materials throughout. Higher variants are expected to offer plush individual rear seats with electric adjustment, ventilation and massage functions, delivering a first-class travel experience tailored for executives and high-profile customers.
Powering the V-Class is expected to be a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine paired with a 9-speed automatic transmission. This setup should provide a balance of performance and efficiency while standing out in a segment largely dominated by petrol-hybrid rivals. Pricing is expected to be positioned at the premium end, potentially starting close to ₹1 crore, reflecting its luxury credentials and imported status
