Motorcycle lovers can have a clear look at the brand’s newest addition to its modern classic range as the much-anticipated Triumph Thruxton 400 has been fully revealed in a series of leaked photographs, just days before its official launch on August 6, 2025. Triumph’s goal with the Thruxton 400 is to appeal to a younger, more cost-conscious clientele in the sub-500cc class while maintaining the classic allure of its famous café racer. The leaked photos display a production-ready machine with distinctive features, such as clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, a fuel tank shaped like a teardrop, and a single seat cowl in the café-racer style. The bike has the same high-end finish and meticulous attention to detail as the larger Thruxton 1200, while having a smaller appearance.
The Triumph Speed 400 and Scrambler 400 X, which were both created in partnership with Bajaj Auto, share the same engine and chassis architecture as the Thruxton 400, which is adorned with a retro-styled bodywork. A 398cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces approximately 40 hosepower and 37 Nm of torque powers the bike. It is mated to a 6-speed gearbox with a ride-by-wire throttle. A gas-charged monoshock at the back and 43mm upside-down front forks handle suspension chores. A 300mm front disc with dual-channel ABS and a ByBre caliper is used for braking.
The Thruxton 400, which is produced at Bajaj’s Chakan factory in India, is anticipated to be reasonably priced between ₹2.5 and ₹2.7 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a formidable competitor in the retro motorcycle market. The Triumph Thruxton 400 has the potential to be a popular option for urban riders and vintage fans seeking performance, style, and brand legacy in a small and reasonably priced package thanks to its timeless design, contemporary amenities, and reasonable price.
