Upcoming Nissan Launches: 1 New SUV and 1 MPV Set for Release in 2 Months

Nissan Motor India is gearing up for a major comeback with two all-new models. The company will launch them in quick succession as part of its revival strategy. First, Nissan will introduce the Gravite MPV at the start of the new year. Soon after, the brand will launch the more important Tekton midsize SUV in February 2026.

Moreover, these launches signal Nissan’s aggressive push in the Indian market. The company aims to strengthen its lineup with practical and high-demand segments.

Nissan Gravite Production and Launch Timeline

Nissan will build the Gravite at its highly localized Oragadam plant in Tamil Nadu. It will use the CMF-A platform, which also underpins the Renault Triber. The company will open bookings in January 2026. Deliveries will begin in March 2026 across India.

Design and Practical Features

The Gravite will focus on practicality and flexibility. It will offer a seven-seat layout with a modular cabin. Early teasers reveal a fresh design. Up front, the MPV will feature a slim LED light bar and a wide blacked-out grille. This setup gives it a bold and unique look. At the rear, the Gravite will get an upright tailgate and horizontally placed LED tail lamps. It will also carry distinct Gravite badging.

Engine Options and Expected Price

Nissan will offer the Gravite with two engine options. These include a 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine and a more powerful 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit. Buyers will get both manual and automatic gearbox options. As a result, the MPV will cater to a wide range of users.

In terms of pricing, Nissan may position the Gravite below ₹6 lakh (ex-showroom). This aggressive pricing will make it highly attractive. It will compete directly with the Renault Triber and entry-level hatchbacks.

Nissan Tekton SUV to Lead Comeback Strategy

While the Gravite will drive volume, the Tekton SUV will focus on strengthening Nissan’s brand image. The company will unveil it at a major event in February. The Tekton will enter the highly competitive midsize SUV segment. It will rival popular models like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, Tata Curvv, and Mahindra Scorpio N.

The Tekton and the next Renault Duster will share the brand-new CMF-B platform beneath the skin. Later, a three-row SUV scheduled for FY2027 will be built using the same architecture. Nissan’s global SUVs, which have an upright posture, squared proportions, C-shaped LED lighting, and a full-width rear light bar, will serve as major style inspiration for the Nissan Tekton.

Turbo-petrol choices with manual and automatic transmissions are anticipated at launch, with hybrid and AWD models probably to follow, even if official engine specifications have not yet been revealed.
