The electric vehicle (EV) market in India is expanding quickly, and 2025–2026 is predicted to be a historic year as several major automakers introduce their cutting-edge electric SUVs. Three of the most anticipated vehicles are the Mahindra XEV 7e, Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara, and Tata Sierra EV. These cars represent a dramatic change in India’s strategy for sustainable mobility in addition to offering outstanding range and cutting-edge features.
Tata Sierra EV
Additionally, an electrified version of the Tata Sierra will be introduced at the 2025 Bharat Mobility Global Expo. Although the Sierra EV’s specifics remain unknown, it is likely to use the Harrier EV’s power unit and will have a similar design to its ICE sister.
Mahindra XEV 7e
Regarding many of the specifics of the born-electric SUV, Mahindra has kept quiet. Nonetheless, two battery pack options—a 59 kWh battery and a 79 kWh battery—are anticipated for the XEV 7e. With a single charge, the XEV 7e should have a range of roughly 500 km.
Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara
On September 3, Maruti Suzuki India Limited is scheduled to introduce the e-Vitara, the company’s first electric car, to the nation. There will be two battery options for the Maruti Suzuki E Vitara: 49 kWh and 61 kWh. The larger battery pack is anticipated to give a range of 428 km in its single-motor configuration, while the smaller battery will have a WLTP range of 346 km. The dual-motor model with the 61 kWh battery pack will, however, have a 412 km range.
