Mercedes Just Launched a Beast for ₹1.40 Crore – Meet the GLS AMG Line

Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line Launched in India at ₹1.40 Crore

The GLS AMG Line was introduced by Mercedes-Benz India and is priced between Rs 1.40 and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom) in the nation. With over 16,000 units previously sold in the Indian market, the German brand’s best-selling “Large Size Luxury SUV” comes in two variants: the GLS 450 AMG Line and the GLS 450d AMG Line. The famous G-Class served as the inspiration for the Mercedes-Benz GLS’s design, which is further enhanced and made unique by AMG components. Alongside the introduction, Mercedes revealed that it sold 4238 units in India during the first quarter (April–June) of FY 25–26, its highest-ever quarterly sales.

Sporty Exterior Design

The GLS AMG Line gets a bold and sporty design. It features unique air intakes at the front along with an aggressive AMG front apron. The AMG side sill panels add to its dynamic look. In addition, the front and rear wing flares come in body color, which gives the SUV a clean and premium finish. At the rear, a chrome trim strip and a black diffuser-style insert enhance the sporty appeal. These elements also match well with the rear air vents.

Premium and Sporty Cabin

Inside, the GLS AMG Line offers a perfect mix of luxury and sportiness. It comes with AMG sports pedals made of brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs. The SUV also features a multifunction sports steering wheel wrapped in nappa leather. The three-twin-spoke design looks elegant and feels premium. Black stitching further enhances its sporty character.

Performance-Focused Elements

Mercedes-Benz has added performance-focused details to this SUV. The front axle gets larger perforated disc brakes for better stopping power. Moreover, the brake calipers feature “Mercedes-Benz” branding, which highlights its high-performance DNA.

Additional Interior Features

The cabin includes several advanced and premium features. These include gearshift paddles, touch control panels, and nappa leather airbag covers. You also get black floor mats with AMG branding and silver chrome trim on the steering wheel. All these elements make the interior feel more premium and driver-focused.

AMG Night Package Option

Buyers can also choose the AMG Night Package for a more aggressive look. This package adds matte black roof rails and a dark chrome radiator grille. It also includes AMG-specific trim on the front and rear aprons, along with 21-inch AMG alloy wheels. These features give the SUV a darker and sportier appearance.

According to Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO of Mercedes-Benz India, the launch of the GLS AMG Line reflects the brand’s strong focus on expanding its luxury portfolio. He also mentioned that Mercedes-Benz has sold over 16,000 GLS units in India. This makes it the brand’s best-selling large luxury SUV in the country.

Furthermore, he stated that the new GLS AMG Line will strengthen Mercedes-Benz’s SUV lineup. Its strong road presence and premium appeal will continue to attract buyers.
