The GLS AMG Line was introduced by Mercedes-Benz India and is priced between Rs 1.40 and Rs 1.43 crore (ex-showroom) in the nation. With over 16,000 units previously sold in the Indian market, the German brand’s best-selling “Large Size Luxury SUV” comes in two variants: the GLS 450 AMG Line and the GLS 450d AMG Line. The famous G-Class served as the inspiration for the Mercedes-Benz GLS’s design, which is further enhanced and made unique by AMG components. Alongside the introduction, Mercedes revealed that it sold 4238 units in India during the first quarter (April–June) of FY 25–26, its highest-ever quarterly sales.
The GLS AMG Line also has sporty and unique air intakes up front, along with an AMG front apron. Along with the AMG side sill panels, the front and rear wing flares are finished in body color. The chrome trim strip and black diffuser-look insert on the AMG rear apron compliment the air vents on the rear wing.
AMG sports pedals in brushed stainless steel with black rubber studs and a multipurpose sports steering wheel in nappa leather are features of the cabin. The three-twin-spoke steering wheel is trimmed in black with black topstitching. The larger perforated disc brakes on the front axle and the “Mercedes-Benz” inscription on the calipers are features of the high-performance SUV.
Gearshift paddles, touch control panels, nappa leather airbag covers, black floor mats with “AMG” writing, and silver chrome steering wheel trim are some more noteworthy cabin features. The AMG Night Package, which includes matte black roof rails, a 4-slat dark chrome radiator grille, trim strips in AMG front and rear aprons, and 21-inch AMG alloy wheels, is another option for the Mercedes-Benz GLS AMG Line.
“The GLS AMG Line’s launch reaffirms Mercedes-Benz’s commitment to adding new items to its line of high-end luxury vehicles.” More than 16,000 GLS vehicles have been sold in India, making it Mercedes-Benz’s best-selling “Large Size Luxury SUV.” “With a road presence and grandeur that is unmatched, the New GLS AMG Line will further strengthen Mercedes-Benz’s SUV offering and highlight the GLS’s strong DNA,” stated Santosh Iyer, Managing Director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
