MG Cyberster Hits Indian Roads: Electric Roadster at ₹74.49 Lakh

The popular Cyberster electric roadster from British heritage brand MG Motor has made its official debut in India, with a starting price of ₹74.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This all-electric convertible represents MG’s daring foray into the nation’s upscale electric sports car market with its futuristic design, exhilarating performance, and opulent equipment.

A Stunning Convertible for the Future

The MG Cyberster is a two-door, all-electric convertible that combines contemporary performance with a touch of nostalgia. Its scissor doors, streamlined aerodynamic shape, and foldable soft top, which were inspired by MG’s renowned roadsters of the past, give it a remarkable presence on Indian roads.

Its contemporary and sporty design targets a small but expanding market of Indian consumers who want sustainability without sacrificing luxury or performance.

Electrifying Performance

The MG Cyberster has a dual-motor all-wheel-drive (AWD) system under the hood, or rather under the floor, which generates an incredible 544 PS of power and 725 Nm of torque. It offers supercar-level performance with no emissions, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds.

The 77 kWh battery pack that powers the EV has a certified range of roughly 500 km (WLTP) between charges. It is useful for both weekend trips and city commutes because its fast-charging capability guarantees that the battery can be charged quickly.

High-Tech Interior

The MG Cyberster’s interior is more akin to a cockpit than a cabin. A fully digital instrument cluster and infotainment display are part of its wraparound triple-screen dashboard. The athletic, futuristic atmosphere is further enhanced with a yoke-style steering wheel, high-end leather interior, and ambient lighting.

Advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS Level 2), including as adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assistance, blind-spot monitoring, and automated emergency braking, are also included with the vehicle.

A Niche, Premium Offering

The MG Cyberster, which is imported as a Completely Built Unit (CBU), is not a mass-market item. Rather, it serves luxury EV buyers and enthusiasts seeking something exciting and different. It is unique due to its performance qualities and convertible design.

It is priced at ₹74.99 lakh and is marketed as MG’s flagship product in India, highlighting the company’s technological prowess and design. Although it doesn’t have any direct competitors in India, its price and performance put it on par with high-end EVs like the BMW i4, Kia EV6, and even some luxury sports vehicles that run on gasoline.

MG has made a powerful statement regarding the performance and design of electric mobility with the introduction of the Cyberster. With its sleek design, powerful performance, and cutting-edge technology, the Cyberster is poised to appeal to a new generation of Indian automobile purchasers who value sustainability and speed.
