Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Spied Testing for the First Time in India

New Volkswagen Taigun Facelift Breaks Cover

The Volkswagen Taigun’s mid-cycle upgrade voyage starts with the first spy photos of the facelift being tested on Indian roads. With a 360-degree camera, ADAS, and other cutting-edge features, this updated version of the well-liked SUV is set to make its debut in early 2026.

Exterior Design: Sleeker Yet Familiar

The front and rear ends of the 2025 Volkswagen Taigun have the most cosmetic changes, according to spy photos:

  • Redesigned front and rear bumpers
  • Sharper LED headlamps and tail lamps
  • Possible new alloy wheel designs
  • Camouflage hints at limited side profile changes

In order to help the Taigun stand out in the crowded market for small SUVs, these modifications are intended to give it a more aggressive and upscale appearance.

Interior Features: Tech-Loaded Cabin Coming Soon

While the interior hasn’t been officially revealed, sources suggest the facelifted Taigun will offer:

  • Upgraded digital instrument cluster
  • Larger touchscreen infotainment system
  • Refreshed dashboard design and trims
  • Enhanced upholstery and material finishes

The most notable feature will be the addition of ADAS Level-2 features, which will make it one of the few SUVs in its class to offer cutting-edge safety technology. These features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and automated emergency braking.

Engine & Transmission: Familiar Yet Refined

Mechanically, the facelifted Taigun is expected to retain the tried-and-tested powertrain lineup:

  • 1.0L TSI turbo-petrol engine (115 PS, 178 Nm)
  • 1.5L TSI EVO turbo-petrol engine (150 PS, 250 Nm)

Six-speed manual, six-speed automatic, and seven-speed DSG (for the 1.5L models) are the available transmission options. But after the debut, perhaps in a few months, Volkswagen intends to swap out the existing 6-speed automatic for a more sophisticated 8-speed automatic transmission.

Launch Timeline & Market Context

It seems likely that the 2025 Volkswagen Taigun facelift will be available in shops in early 2026. The Skoda Kushaq facelift, its brother, may come a little sooner as part of the VW Group’s coordinated plan.

This timely update will help the Taigunstay relevant and competitive in India’s rapidly changing SUV market, where rivals like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Tata Curvv, and Honda Elevate already offer more premium features.

Taigun Facelift Brings Substance and Safety

The upcoming Volkswagen Taigun facelift may not overhaul the SUV’s core design but focuses on what matters most—tech, safety, and driving comfort. With ADAS, a more premium cabin, and transmission upgrades, it aims to elevate the driving experience without compromising on its German engineering DNA.
