Kia is launching a number of items to increase its market share in the electric vehicle sector. With the recent debut of the Carens Clavis EV in India, the South Korean behemoth appears to have plans to follow up with the Syros EV. We get a sneak peek at what to expect from the new electric SUV thanks to spy photos that have appeared online, even though the brand has not yet made an official announcement.
New Charging Port Setup and Design Changes
The latest images shared by Autospy show a camouflaged test mule of the Kia Syros EV. In these images, the SUV is seen connected to a public DC fast charger. The charging port is placed on the front fender, which is a noticeable change. Earlier, the Carens Clavis EV had its charging port positioned at the front nose. This clearly shows that Kia is trying a different approach with the Syros EV.
Interestingly, the images also hint at a similar charging setup on the other side. The camouflaged panel on the opposite side has a similar opening, which suggests dual charging ports could be offered. Talking about design, the Kia Syros EV looks quite similar to its ICE version currently sold in India. However, a few updates make it stand out.
For instance, the EV gets lime green brake callipers, a signature element usually seen on Kia’s GT models. In addition, the SUV features aero-optimized alloy wheels and disc brakes on both ends. The test model also comes with front and rear parking sensors. This indicates that the car may offer an ADAS suite for improved safety.

It is anticipated that the interior design will closely resemble that of the internal combustion engine (ICE) variant. It will, however, use the updated EV-specific software for the screens, and it might have different upholstery and trims. It is anticipated that the list of features will not change.
